Students in Steve Mrozinski’s BIO 113 General Biology I class are shown here working on their independent projects. The students have teamed up to use their skills in studying bacterial growth to study the effects of compounds such as ethanol and caffeine on the growth of Serratia marcescens. The students work as teams to design and carry out their own research studies that enable them to use techniques and apply concepts they are learning in class.
