For her senior research capstone, biology major Kristyna Hnizda (shown on the left) is working at Johns Hopkins University in the laboratory of Dr. David Ryugo in the Department of Otolaryngology. Kristyna is working to map neurons in the brain that are related to hearing and their connections. The work will form the basis of further studies into the mechanism of hearing and deafness. In addition to conducting cutting edge research, Kristyna is fortunate to work with a biology alum, Catherine Connelly (BIO ‘08), shown on the right, who is a research technician in Dr. Ryugo’s lab
