Senior biology major Kristin Powell completed her internship this semester at Nutramax Laboratories in Edgewood, Maryland. Nutramax is a nutraceutical company that produces supplements such as glucosamine for domestic animal and human consumption. At her internship, Kristin studied an antioxidant that may protect chondrocytes from oxidative damage similar to what happens in osteoarthritis.
