Senior Kevin Motz is studying the effects of salinity levels on the formation of biofilms in marine environments. The study is being conducted as an independent project in the BIO 307 Marine Biology course. Students in this course plan their own projects, including writing research proposals, planning budgets and ordering supplies, conducting the experiments and reporting on the results.
