Krystal Burns, biology major, completed her Senior Research Capstone at the University of Maryland Dental School in the laboratory of Dr. Ashraf Fouad, chair of the Department of Endodontics. Her project focused on determining whether the bacteria that are present in tooth infections are still present after root canal treatment.
